Manchester Abortion Rights Campaign Open Meeting

From the 14th of February to the 25th of March, anti-choice groups in Manchester are planning to stage a 40 day ‘vigil for life’ outside the Fallowfield Marie Stopes Abortion Clinic. In previous years, these groups have targeted women who attempt to access the clinic. Their tactics include handing out anti-choice leaflets, displaying graphic and medically inaccurate posters of embryos and attempting to speak to the women who are entering.

We believe that it is a woman’s legal right to access health care services without harassment and intimidation. In conjunction with SisterSupport, Abortion Rights Campaign Manchester will therefore be holding an anti-vigil demonstration throughout this month. Our aim is to ensure that there is a small but visible opposition to the vigil and to provide escorts for women into the clinic if they want it.
