Partisan’s Club space is located inside the Islington Mill on James Street (M3 5HW). Our Community Space is located across the courtyard on the ground floor of New Islington Mill, which can also be accessed from the Regent Trading Estate off Oldfield Road (M5 4DE).

Angst Aerobics – alternative exercise for an anxious time !

We are super excited to be linking up with Girl Gang to bring a dose of Angst Aerobics to our members!
Angst aerobics is a virtual workout with a difference- a physical and emotional letting off of steam.Through a mixture of music, performance, costume and improvised dance, we will make the unseen and emotional visual and physical in a bid to expel anxiety and tension from the body.
This is a camp, heightened, theatrical interactive performance which grants permission for people to be as daft and uncool as they feel. Think Jane Fonda via Rainbow Rhythms with Broadway aspirations.
During this strange time of separation, it is vital we work harder than ever to strengthen existing communities, to strive to build new ones and to have an active relationship with ourselves. Togetherness is paramount, joy is precious and we believe fun and silliness helps to bond, create connections and provide solace from the seriousness of wider society at this moment!
Over the course of an hour long live streamed participatory class run via Partisan’s Zoom, we will emote, sing, lip sync and laugh to a variety of power ballads and pop bangers, with a playlist ranging from Beyonce to Barbra Streisand via Kate Bush and The Cardigans.
Building from the success of previous outings of this event, other digital offerings (such as SAD Bootcamp) and our past club nights, (which have included sleeping bag races, friendship cupids, braless midnight pillow fights and flash mobs!) the series will be funny, theatrical and genuinely cathartic.
Girl Gang have a strong reputation for bringing people together to share experiences, connect and be the best version of themselves, creating accessible and equalised environments for people to let loose in a safe space.
Zoom will allow people to interact with the host and each other, creating a “remote dance floor” vibe. Audiences are asked to give their all and make of it what they will, choosing to participate with cameras on or off. Our goal is to create an online community of people embracing the absurd whilst united under strange circumstances.
