Partisan’s Club space is located inside the Islington Mill on James Street (M3 5HW). Our Community Space is located across the courtyard on the ground floor of New Islington Mill, which can also be accessed from the Regent Trading Estate off Oldfield Road (M5 4DE).

Cat & Bishakh’s Amazingly Aesthetic Adventure w/ Just Do The Thing

Just Do The Thing welcomes author Cat Fitzpatrick and artist Bishakh Som to a night of readings, music and revelry, with special guests.

 

Writers Cat Fitzpatrick and Bishakh Som have flown all the way from New York City only to end up at Partisan, Salford, harangued by a horde of transfems. Come join in!

 

Just Do The Thing hosts a night of readings by our two travelers, plus a lineup of local literary guests. Expect drinks, a DJ, readings, bookselling and good ol’ transsexual fun.

 

Books Beyond Bars will also be joining, with a stall taking donations of books, money, and selling some merch.

JUST DO THE THING is a collective & community group run by and for transfeminine people across Manchester & Salford. They meet monthly at Partisan and plot, scheme and Do Things.

 

BISHAKH SOM is a cartoonist, goth, and former architect whose work has appeared in The New Yorker and The Boston Review, among other venues. She wrote the Graphic Memoir Spellbound, and the Graphic Fiction Apsara Engine, for which she won a Lambda Literary Award.

 

CAT FITZPATRICK is the Editrix at LittlePuss Press and the soi-disant ‘Energiser Bunny of Transsexuals’. Her first novel, The Call-Out (nominated for a 2023 Lambda Literary Award) is out from Seven Stories Press.

 

BOOKS BEYOND BARS UK is a collective of volunteers who send books and other educational materials, free of charge, to incarcerated LGBTQIA+ people across the United Kingdom.
