Partisan’s Club space is located inside the Islington Mill on James Street (M3 5HW). Our Community Space is located across the courtyard on the ground floor of New Islington Mill, which can also be accessed from the Regent Trading Estate off Oldfield Road (M5 4DE).

Partisan is delighted to announce that we’ll be joined by Adam Zmith as he talks to us about his new book, Deep Sniff: A History of Poppers and Queer Futures. (Repeater Books, 2021)

In his first book, Adam charts the history of poppers and tells the story of how they wafted from the laboratory to being sniffed out in gay bars, clubs and bedrooms across the world. The book features imbricating conceptions of identity, queerness, and pleasure from past to present. The talk will comprise of questions,  readings and discussion with Adam being joined in conversation by host Sam Fairbrother. Copies of the book will be available for purchase on the night.

Adam Zmith is a writer. He was the recipient of the London Writers Award 2019-20, and is the author of several shortlisted and published short stories. He is also one of the producers of The Log Books podcast, winner of Gold in the Best New Podcast category at the British Podcast Awards 2020.

Sam Fairbrother is an actor and theatre director. He’s also an active member of Greater Manchester and District Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament, and a gay man.
