On the 7th & 14th of April Partisan are hosting two workshops with Emma Warren where we will think and talk about what it means, and how, we could document a project like Partisan.

Emma has built a career writing in the music industry and bringing people together to discuss culture making and collective activity. Emma hosts a monthly radio show on Worldwide FM where she invites regular special guests and talks all things music culture. Emma’s book Make Some Space was a project to document the Total Refreshment Centre (TRC) social centre in London, to bring to pages it’s moment in culture. The TRC closed in-part in 2018 but remains open as a music studio & recording space.

We have asked Emma to put together these sessions so we can spark discussions and energy for documenting the Partisan project so far! This moment in time, while we prepare to take hold in a new home, seems like a good opportunity to stop and reflect on the first 5 years of Partisan Collective. Think of this as an opportunity to get together with other members, share memories and discuss how we might tell Partisan’s story (or stories).

In session one Emma will lead us in discussing the importance of documenting your culture, drawing on her wealth of experience around autonomous spaces. In session two Emma will lead us in exploring different methods, styles and approaches to documenting multi-faced projects like Partisan. These sessions will be interactive, and we would encourage and support anyone to participate. These members workshops are for us, to help us reflect & share what we have done from beginning to now!

Tickets

You’re ticket will grant you entry to both workshops. It is desirable to come to both as they will inform each other, but you can come to just one. These workshops are for Partisan members, they are free but you can also pay what you feel if you’d like to donate.

If you have any access requirements for Zoom that you’d like to discuss with us then please send an email to [email protected]. Our Zoom account is set up with live-note captioning for those with hearing impairments.
