This Halloween, Partisan are hosting a spooky screening of two creepy classics! Tickets will be available to purchase online very soon. All proceeds from ticket sales will go towards the running costs for this and future Partisan film screenings.

7pm – LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS (1960)
Rated PG, running time 70 minutes
**Please note, this is not the 1986 musical version starring Rick Moranis, but the B-movie classic that came 15 years before! **

Seymour is a young man who works in a flower store. He manages to create a carnivorous plant that feeds on human flesh. Nobody knows about it, so Seymour and the plant become good “friends”. The plant needs food to grow up, so it convinces him to start killing people…

A farcical black comedy made in a matter of days after filming on another project was complete, Little Shop of Horrors is a masterclass in over the top, silly, B-movie brilliance.

8:50pm – CARNIVAL OF SOULS (1962)
Rated 12, running time 78 minutes
A young woman in a small Kansas town survives a drag race accident, then agrees to take a job as a church organist in Salt Lake City. En route, she is haunted by a bizarre apparition that compels her toward an abandoned lakeside pavilion.

Made by industrial filmmakers on a small budget, the eerily effective B-movie classic was intended to have “the look of a Bergman and the feel of a Cocteau”—and, with its strikingly used locations and spooky organ score, it succeeds. Herk Harvey’s macabre masterpiece gained a cult following on late-night television and continues to inspire filmmakers today.

Tickets will go off-sale at 6pm on the evening of the event.
