Partisan are hosting another monthly work day; October’s edition being on Sunday 27th.
Work days are a fun, active way to meet with existing friends, make new ones and to get to know the space if you don’t already.
We’re hoping to put up some chicken wire above our rear staircase entrance, as unfortunately people do throw litter down there. This also means we might be able to attach a gate to it at some point in the future for extra security when the entrance isn’t in use. Materials provided for those feeling in the mood for some DIY 🐓🛠
Some smaller tasks for the day include:
– rubbish clearing and sorting recycling
– litter picking around the venue (litter pickers and appropriate gloves provided)
– filling any holes in windows and door frames (materials provided)
In addition, a general deep-clean of the bar areas and shared kitchen and toilet facilities is always hugely appreciated at these work days. 🧽
If you struggle with your mobility, or for whatever reason feel uncomfortable doing more practical tasks, there are always ideas to be thinking of re the design and layout of the space, and if you’re not already a member, you can check out our Design Team on Slack* channel to see what has been discussed so far, and how you might want to get involved yourself. 🙂
We’re also going to be fundraising to create an allotment in Partisan’s courtyard in the new year ! If you have any ideas at all for the layout of the courtyard, or are interested in helping with this part of the Partisan community, come along to have a look at the space. If you have any ideas, or are able to help with the donation of tools or plants, let us know, or join the discussion on Slack in the Allotment channel 🙂
Expect tunes, tea, biscuits and fruit to keep you going throughout the day. If you’d like to bring any sharing snacks or drinks yourself, please bear in mind that we encourage the space to be vegan so that everybody can tuck in! 📻🔊☕️🍪
