Get It Done: Conversation Club #2 – Foodbank Meetup
18th February 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
After announcing our recent project Can You Hear Me Now? working with Manchester Central Foodbank we received an overwhelming response of people who wanted to get involved!
This session will be chance to meet and talk about the creative volunteer opportunities we’ve got going as part of the project. We’re looking for people who want to GET ACTIVE & INVOLVED. Feeling pretty powerless with the current state of the world? Yep. Us too. Now’s your chance to act. We’re going to be trying guerrilla advertising, intervening and experimenting with everything from creative activism to zine making. We want to bounce ideas around the group, so if you’ve been sitting on some boss ideas about art and activism, come along! There’ll also be some work in running an exhibition, curating and filming coming up in the future.
We’ll also be discussing another project we’re going to be working on with Shelter in April, where we’ll be on the look out for people with a joint love for social housing reforms and DIY and set design.
The meetup is really chilled out and informal! Just come along to meet some likeminded creative people who wanna do good in the world!

Can You Hear Me Now? is an upcoming project working with Manchester Central Foodbank. Over the next few months we’ll be creating a forum allowing foodbank users to steer their own narratives of poverty outside of traditional media portrayals.
