State Violence Research Network

11th October 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 10:30 pm

Please come and join us for the launch event for the STATE VIOLENCE RESEARCH NETWORK – Thursday 11th October at Partisan, Cheetam Hill Road, Manchester.

The first half of the event is a discussion forum, featuring local activists and academics, provoking a wider discussion on state violence, the links between activism and academia, and what the academy can do better in supporting activist struggle and activity. This discussion forum is open to the entire audience, following short statements by each of the speakers. EXACT LINE-UP TO BE CONFIRMED.

This will then be followed by a screening of the new Brazilian documentary ‘Nossos Mortos Tem Voz’ (Our Dead Have Voice) which explores the effects and consequences of police violence and brutality in the favelas of Baixada Fluminense.

Vegan wine and snacks will be provided free of charge.

DOORS OPEN 18:00 FOR THE EVENT TO START AT 18:30.
