Partisan’s Club space is located inside the Islington Mill on James Street (M3 5HW). Our Community Space is located across the courtyard on the ground floor of New Islington Mill, which can also be accessed from the Regent Trading Estate off Oldfield Road (M5 4DE).

The Meteor Community Organising Training

Hi everyone, we will be holding a one-day Introduction for Community Organising training for The Meteor next Wednesday 15th May, 9.45am-5pm at Partisan, 19 Cheetham Hill Rd, Manchester M4 4FY.
The course gives an overview of the community organising process and provides an introduction to the core elements of community organising: listening, power and action. We will also spend some time thinking about how this may be relevant to The Meteor’s work of community journalism in Manchester, particularly in relation to our plans to launch our co-op this year. Community organising has been a crucial part of media co-op The Bristol Cable’s success so hopefully it will help us to get an overview of the process and how it may be applied.
This course has been developed by Community Organisers (https://www.corganisers.org.
Next week will be a bit of an experiment to see how the training can be applied to a community journalism context and if successful we could run it again in the future.
