UPCOMING: Partisan All Day Party #8 – UK Garage special! – June 1st 2019

Partisan is back with it’s ultimate Saturday session for a UK Garage special! TICKETS ON PRE-SALE AND SOME HELD BACK TO BUY ON THE DOOR
Top local DJs have been lining up to share their finest garage bangers with us. For the first half of the party, they’ll be exploring the roots and heritage of this irresistible genre – dub, reggae, rnb, dancehall, house. The second half will be a uk garage bombardment, with sprinkles of related genres like uk funky, broken beat, and even the incredible uk music we have garage to thank for, like grime and dubstep.
Serious partying does not require serious sleep deprivation. Immerse yourselves in the unique environment of a community party: no customers, no bosses, no profits – just all of us floating together in a dreamy sea of warm retro lighting, soaking up the sounds of incredible local DJs as we loosen up, extend our limbs, and move together.

And it’s FREE ENTRY for Partisan members – donations welcome on the door.

£5 entry for non-members – now is the time to get that Partisan membership you’ve been meaning to get. Starting from £1 a month.

Line Up

Brackles [Rinse FM]
Rinse FM’s very own UK Garage and Funky historian will be coming up from London town to give us an absolute masterclass in 2-step swing and 4/4 heaters. From the tender age of 15(!!), Brackles was a regular at the utterly seminal, genre-defining, world-changing clubnight FWD», responsible for being the central hub in the morphing of garage into sublow and then dubstep and grime. After breaking through as a producer in 2008 on giant labels like Planet Mu (OFFICIAL), Brackles became an important figure and influence on the burgeoning ‘post-dubstep’ sound. Since then, the master technician has become part of Manchester’s very own Swing Ting, and part of the Partisan family ❤️️

Mixstress [Rebecca.Never.Becky]
MixStress is fresh on the Manchester DJ scene but has very quickly made her mark! From putting on the very best QTIPOC-centric parties at incredible spaces like Partisan 😉, she’s also taken the city’s bars and clubnights in her strides as a DJ – from Common to Bollox, with stops at the brilliant Limbo Radio along the way. As an original garage raver, MixStress knows the very best of the classics that have stood the test of time, as well as all the forgotten gems along the way.

Antoin [Kiss Me Again]
January 1st 2003, Todd ‘The God’ Edwards played with DJ EZ wearing for the first time his now legendary ‘Jesus Loves UK Garage’ t-shirt. 15+ years later, Antoin will show us the meaning of his very own ‘Gays Love UK Garage’ tee. With his experience as one of the Kiss Me Again trio who hold it down every month with their incredible party at Soup Kitchen and wonderful NTS radio show, he’ll shower us down with his weighty and beloved garage collection.

Boygirl [Queer club legends]
With a slew of MCs and DJs who are all phenomenons in their own right (with boiler room sets, Crack! magazing exclusives, and RNCM degrees under their belts), boygirl are the most exciting DJ-based performance in Manchester. Let them take control of the room, and set the party loose with boisterous glamour. Harmonising queer classics and grimey wheel ups, it’s their beloved hot mess. They specialise in pulling it off, and pulling it up.

Samrai [Swing Ting]
Founding member of one of Resident Advisor‘s labels of the month and FACT Magazine‘s label of the year 2016, Swing Ting, Samrai has been fine-tuning the craft of UK party music at his incredible monthly Soup Kitchen residency for years. Working with the likes of Murlo, Fox, dancehall heroes Equiknoxx, gqom legend DJ Lag, Samrai is at the very top of the game and we cannot wait to have him play for us.

Kickin’ Pigeon [Wet Play / NTS Radio / Piccadilly Records]
Long time friend of Partisan, Kickin’ Pigeon was a key organiser of the very first Wet Play NYD party at Partisan in 2018, which inspired our day parties. Otherwise to be found behind the counter of Piccadilly Records pushing the best dance music in the world to DJs and music-lovers alike, KP has his beak deep inside the freshest forthcoming releases out there before any of us even know they exist. This is his long-overdue debut for us, and he’ll be giving us an expert dose of afternoon dub music pressure.
