Opened in July 2017, Partisan is a collective and largely volunteer-run space for independent, community-led DIY and cultural projects. We also employ five staff members, who are responsible for the day-to-day running of the organisation.
As a collective and cooperative, Partisan is democratically owned and managed by the people who work in and use the space. You can become part of our collective by becoming a member.
We are located over two floors in a Grade II listed building on Cheetham Hill Road in central Manchester. Our basement is a flexible venue space and bar, and upstairs is a large social space surrounded by offices and meeting rooms. Both areas are available for use by independent community and cultural groups, to host meetings, exhibitions, film screenings, book launches, parties and gigs.
Revenue generated by membership, office and room rental, events and our café-bar subsidises the free and affordable use of the space for those that need it.
