PARTISAN SOBER SPACE – PRIDE IS A PROTEST

28th August 2021 @ 4:00 pm - 10:00 pm

🌟 PARTISAN SOBER SPACE – PRIDE IS A PROTEST 🌟

Pride is a Protest developed from a series of peer-to-peer research Zooms and in response to LGBTQ+ people who are marginalised by the nature and commercialisation of Pride events across the country.

Through these conversations hosted by Islington Mill, Partisan and Fat-Out an idea has developed to create a day of events and using the power of food, art, workshops, performance and protest to explore what an alternative to commercialised Pride could look like, and explore platforms for people’s voices to be heard. This is a FREE event.

Dancercise with Fiona

Join Fiona for 2 ridiculously fun and totally fabulous dance sessions. You’ll be dancing to queer anthems, old and new, by legends such as Sylvester, Lil Nas X and many more!

These are beginner friendly dance workouts, with simple and sassy moves to lift your spirits.

All abilities and fitness levels welcome.

Clothes Swap

Trans Mutual Aid Manchester (TMAM) are holding a gender affirming clothes swap aimed at trans and nonbinary people. We can do small alterations and any mending on the day.

There will be free clothes in a range of styles including a small selection of binders (extra donations of these would be greatly appreciated!) If you have unopened makeup to donate that would be great too!

You are welcome and encouraged to bring any decent, good quality clothes you have with you on the day to swap for something new and cute to wear at pride. If you’re bringing stuff with you on the day, plus size clothes especially would be really useful as we want to make this event as accessible as possible.
