Queer Cinema Collective presents – Female Trouble (by John Waters): Film Screening + Extra stuff!

13th December 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

After the success of our first community cinema screening, we’re right back atcha with our second screening!

We’re opting for John Waters’ festive and fun flick, ‘Female Trouble’. If you’ve never seen it, you’re in for a treat. And if you already have, then come along and experience it again with us.

Have a peep at the trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ESmqwonRMEM

Again we’ll have a RAFFLE, where you can win even more and even better prizes than last time – including Liquid Eyeliner! We also have VEGAN HOT CHOCOLATE, TEA AND COFFEE to warm your cockles. And there is POPCORN too, so you can stuff your faces during the flick [insert lesbian joke]. Plenty of comfy SOFA seats too!

£4 on the door – 100% of the money is used to screen future films.

Doors open at 6:45pm, and the film starts at 7:30pm

Only 60 person capacity so get there early!

Wrap up warm as it can be a little chilly in Partisan, sometimes 🙂

Spread the word – we want to keep this space going, and that depends on you guys 🙂

Film Rated: 18

……………………………………………………………….

We’re a group of queers in Manchester, and we love watching films. We want to set up a regular queer D.I.Y. cinema. We want to prioritise screening films about groups that are underrepresented within and beyond queer cinema. In particular, we want to give special attention to women directors and feminist and LGBTQ+ selections, as well as movies about and/or by people of colour. We love independent features, documentaries, and foreign and festival films. However, we absolutely don’t shun Hollywood. We also schedule films that aren’t overtly feminist and/or political – but make for great viewing anyway.

In a nutshell – we want to create an inclusive space, where we can watch movies together, and have a good time. And this isn’t an academic space by the way – you don’t need a fancy degree in Cinema Studies.

D.I.Y. programme:
This is your space, and we want it to be run by our members – from picking the films, setting up the projector, taking tickets on the door or running our facebook/twitter. So get in touch if you want to get involved.

We have some very preliminary ideas for future films…….but, message us if you have suggestions!
